Vann Nath n'a pas encore fini de se battre

Vann Nath n'a pas encore fini de se battre : il a ouvert les yeux ce mardi matin à 8h, à la grande surprise de sa femme, puis à nouveau à 10h face à moi-même, enfin à 15h30 en présence de Rithy Panh, ainsi que 3 autres fois dans la journée. Ses pupilles sont à nouveau réactives, ce qui signifie qu'il a une activité cérébrale (peut-être infime).
Son corps tolère correctement la nourriture qui lui est injectée, son coeur est stable, même si la tension reste forte. Il a également subi une dialyse dans la nuit d'hier.
J'ai parlé au médecin ( qui reste toujours extrêmement réservé sur son pronostic vital, mais reconnaît néanmoins qu'un progrès significatif, inespéré a été atteint aujourd'hui. Nous avons donc de bonnes raisons de le maintenir sous assistance respiratoire.

Vann Nath est décidément un homme d'une résistance hors-du-commun, j'avais moi-même perdu tout espoir hier, mais ces dernières évolutions me font à nouveau espérer. Il se bat jusqu'au bout, je serais d'avis que l'on en fasse autant.

Chaque journée d'hospitalisation coûte environ 300 USD, nous faisons appel à votre aide pour soutenir Vann Nath dans ce combat. Le montant n'a aucune importance. [EN] Vann Nath has not given up yet



 
Dear friends,

Vann is still fighting: he opened his eyes this tuesday morning 8:00 AM while his wife was on his side, then once again at 10:00 AM just in front of me, at 3:30 PM with Rithy Panh and 3 other times on the same day. His pupils are reacting to the light again, which means his brain has some (maybe reduced) activity. His body tolerates food we inject him, his heart is stable, even if his tension remains a bit high. He also received a dialysis yesterday night.
I have talked to the doctor, who is still very reserved on Vann Nath's chances to get through, he nevertheless admits that significant progress has been accomplished today. So we have good reasons to keep Vann Nath under breathing assistance.

Vann Nath has to be an incredibly resisting person. I had lost all hope yesterday, but those new signs make me hoping again. He's fighting until the end, so I would suggest us to do the same.

Vann Nath entouré

Chers amis,

La situation est désespérée, mais toute sa famille reste parfaitement soudée autour de lui, et se relaie à son chevet en permanence. C'est très émouvant de voir ses enfants et ses proches continuer à le masser, à lui parler, à lui prodiguer beaucoup de soin et d'attention. Ils gardent toujours espoir malgré tout. Il sera gardé sous assistance respiratoire encore plusieurs jours, et reste suivi de près par son médecin habituel. Quelques zones d'incertitudes demeurent malgré tout, j'espère en savoir plus demain. Je vous tiendrai informé de ce dont on aura besoin en fonction de l'évolution de la situation.

Situation is desperate, but his whole family is still bond at his side, they relieve one another 24/24h. I am feeling quite moved to see his children, his relatives keeping on massaging him, taking so much care with him. They're still hoping. He will be kept on breathing assistance for some more days to come. His usual doctor is watching him. Some questions remain unsolved, so I hope I will get some more informations from his doctor very soon. I will keep you informed about we will need, after seeing how things evolve.

Vann Nath victime d'une crise cardiaque

C'est avec beaucoup d'émotion et de peine que je vous transmets le message suivant de la part de Rithy Panh :

Chers amis,

Je voudrais partager avec vous une triste nouvelle concernant Vann Nath. Il a fait un arrêt cardiaque dans la nuit de vendredi à Phnom Penh. Il a perdu conscience et depuis ne s’est pas réveillé. Il est en coma cérébral. Il se bat et sa famille avec lui mais les médecins ont peu d’espoir quant à ses chances de nous revenir. Je vous tiendrais informés de l’évolution de la situation.

I would like to share with you these very sad news about Vann Nath. He had a heart attack during Friday night in Phnom Penh. He lost conscience and did not wake up till now. He went into a cerebral coma. He is fighting and his family with him but the doctors have little hope regarding his chance to come to back to us. I will let you know if anything happens.
